{"id":838,"date":"2026-01-27T18:22:55","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T18:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/toppesfield-pc.gov.uk\/?p=838"},"modified":"2026-05-09T18:23:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T18:23:26","slug":"last-chance-for-essex-residents-to-help-shape-health-and-wellbeing-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toppesfield-pc.gov.uk\/?p=838","title":{"rendered":"Last chance for Essex residents to help shape health and wellbeing strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One week remains for Essex residents to share their views on the future of health and wellbeing across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The emerging&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/consultations.essex.gov.uk\/equalities-and-partnership\/essexjhws-2026-29\/\">Essex Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy<\/a>&nbsp;(2026\u20132029) is being designed by the Essex Health and Wellbeing Board, led by Essex County Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the product of work across the system, involving the NHS and other health partners, local and county councils and other agencies like the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy sets out a shared vision for health partners, highlighting the key priorities needed to help people in Essex live healthier, happier lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategy looks beyond healthcare to the wider factors that influence health. This includes jobs, housing, education, transport and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents are being asked to share their views on four key priorities that will shape health and wellbeing in Essex. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Improving life chances for children and young people<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 ensuring children grow up happy, safe and free from the effects of poverty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Helping more people into and stay in work<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 supporting employment and skills development for future opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Building healthy, resilient and connected communities<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 creating places that promote health, connection and easy access to support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Creating opportunities to improve health and reduce the impact of poor health<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 encouraging healthy lifestyles, supporting mental wellbeing and reducing substance misuse<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Councillor John Spence, Chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board and Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Integration at Essex County Council, said:<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cOur new Health and Wellbeing Strategy comes at a time of major change for Essex.
